If you plan to store your Gravity Purifier for more than 3 months, follow these long term storage steps.
Long Term Storage Instructions
- Backwash the membrane ultrafilter according to the backwashing instructions.
- Rinse the dirty water gravity bag, basket, cap, and hose with safe water.
- Fill the dirty water bag with safe water to the max line and add 1/2 teaspoon of household bleach. Close the cap and shake the bag a few times to mix well.
- Connect the hose to the filter, hang the gravity system, and twist to allow water to flow through the filter until the gravity bag is empty.
- Disconnect the filter and keep it vertical for a few moments until no water runs out. Do not shake the filter.
- Twist to close the membrane ultrafilter cartridge, keep the hose attached to the filter, and roll it around.
- Allow the dirty water gravity bag to dry naturally by leaving the cap removed.
- Store in a cool, clean place.
Before Using Again
After long term storage:
- Filter one batch of water
- Discard that water to rinse the system
- The system is then ready to use again
Important Storage Notes
- Keep the filter vertical after disconnecting until water stops running out.
- Do not shake the filter during storage prep.
- Let the dirty water bag dry naturally with the cap removed.
- Store the system in a cool, clean place.
