LifeStraw products are not designed or certified to remove nitrates or nitrites from drinking water.

Nitrates and nitrites are highly water soluble and typically require specialized treatment methods such as reverse osmosis, anion exchange, distillation, or electrodialysis. These technologies are not used in LifeStraw products.

If nitrate contamination is a concern, we recommend using a system specifically certified for nitrate reduction or contacting your local water authority for guidance.
