The Escape requires about 20 lbs. to activate the pump and at max pressure it takes roughly 50 lbs. of force.  We recommend setting on a stable surface or the ground to pressurize.

Yes.  Please be sure to follow all instructions regarding usage per the manual before operating the purifier.  The Escape features an integrated pressure relief valve, which prevents over-pressurization.
