What is the difference between the older LifeStraw Go water filter bottle and the new Go Series water filter bottle?

Many of the most loved aspects of the previous generation bottles have been carried over with thoughtful redesigns to improve user experience.

The new Go Series bottles retain the class-leading filtration capabilities of our previous generation bottles incorporating both a membrane microfilter and an activated carbon filter. The two-stage system filters out bacteria, parasites, microplastics, and reduces turbidity as well as improving taste and reducing some chemicals.

Please see our performance data sheet for details on filter capabilities.

Additionally, our new Go Series bottles continue to use BPA- Free resins and high-quality 18/8 grade stainless steel for durability, worry-free use, and in the case of our steel bottles – a layer of insulation to keep cool water cool.

The new bottle has a redesigned cap, mouthpiece, and assembly. The cap incorporates a leak-proof lid with a handle making it easy to carry while also protecting the silicon mouthpiece from the elements. The mouthpiece can be twisted off to remove for easy washing or replacement.

The filter connection for the cap has also been redesigned. In previous generations, the filter was a press-fit attachment. For new bottles, the filter is now a screw-in connection. This is important to know if you are purchasing replacement filters in the future to ensure you get the right version of the filter for you bottle.

Finally the new Go series comes with an additional larger 1L size option in our double-wall insulated stainless steel bottles and there is a large assortment of new fresh colors across the line.
