What materials are used in the LifeStraw filter housing and membrane? Are they made from HDPE?Updated a month ago

The filter housing in LifeStraw Home pitchers and dispensers is made from SMMA, or styrene methyl methacrylate. This is a BPA free, food grade plastic chosen for durability and safety in drinking water applications. It is not made from HDPE.

The hollow fiber membrane inside the filter is made from polysulfone, a high performance polymer widely used in water treatment systems due to its strength and ability to maintain precise filtration pore sizes.

All water contact materials used in LifeStraw products are BPA free and meet applicable food safety standards.
