Chloronitramide
Chloronitramide is a newly identified compound, and further research is required to better understand its removal methods and potential health effects. Currently, it is not listed in WHO Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality, US EPA regulations, or NSF standards (including NSF/ANSI 53 – VOC). As a chlorine-based inorganic compound, chloronitramide differs from typical VOCs, so no conclusions can be drawn based on existing data.
At this point, there is no definitive information regarding removal technologies, potential health effects, or maximum contamination limits in drinking water.
LifeStraw products are designed to address a wide range of contaminants, but we want to be transparent about the fact that no definitive data exists to confirm how effectively our technologies remove chloronitramide.
We are actively monitoring scientific developments and testing methods for chloronitramide. If new testing protocols or removal methods become available, we will evaluate our technologies and adjust our approach as needed.
